Academic Integrity and AI Use#

Getting help is allowed. Submitting someone else’s work as your own is not.

The current course syllabus and applicable CSN or college policies take precedence over anything on this website.

Collaboration boundary#

Unless an assignment says otherwise, you must work individually. You may discuss the problem with classmates, but you may not share code, show another student your code, look at another student’s code, or tell another student exactly what to type.

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask before doing it.

AI tools#

AI tools can be useful for studying, explaining concepts, reviewing compiler messages, and helping you understand an error. They should not be used to bypass the work you are expected to learn from.

Do not submit undisclosed AI-generated solutions as your own work. Follow the syllabus and assignment instructions for disclosure requirements.

Disclosure#

Programming assignments may require you to disclose assistance. The programming guidelines include a header-comment area for notes such as a ChatGPT Study and Learn session link when required.
